Meet your School Counselor

My name is Emily Curtis Sellers. I am the school counselor for Starmount Middle School.

I graduated from Starmount High in 2003. I was an NC Teaching Fellow at App State, from which I graduated in 2006. I taught Spanish for 7 years, most of that at SHS. I began my M.Ed. in School Counseling in the fall of 2013, online through Salem College. I graduated in May 2016.

As a local, I feel connected with my students and our community. I believe it is easier for the students to talk with someone who comes from a similar place as them.

I am excited to be working with the students and families of Starmount Middle School.

I also work at the Spanish Interpreter for the county.
